Terms of Service

These Terms of Service set out the rules for using TripUp, a free guide and local business directory for Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Please read them carefully, because by using our website you agree to them.

Who we are

TripUp is operated by TripUp, whose registered address is Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India. In these Terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean TripUp, and "you" means anyone who visits or uses our website.

These Terms apply to our website at https://preview.tripup.in, our business listing website at business.tripup.in, and any service we offer through them (together, the "Service"). Our Privacy Policy, Cancellation & Refund Policy and Shipping & Delivery Policy also form part of these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old to list a business, send a claim or removal request, or make a payment on TripUp. If you are under 18, you are welcome to browse, but please ask a parent or guardian to help with anything else.

What TripUp offers

TripUp helps you discover Kolhapur and get in touch with local businesses directly. On the Service you will find:

  • A directory of local businesses in five categories: Hotels & Lodging, Travel agencies & cabs, Parking, Souvenir shops, and Gyms & fitness.
  • Guides to places to see, such as temples, forts, lakes and museums, and to the souvenirs Kolhapur is known for.
  • A map of listed businesses.
  • Travel plans: sightseeing packages, such as Kolhapur Darshan, and cab rates offered by independent local travel partners.

You do not need an account. You contact businesses yourself by phone, WhatsApp or Google Maps directions using the buttons on each listing, and we charge you no booking fee for this. In our cab search you can also ask for a call back: we pass your request to the travel agencies that have joined TripUp, and they contact you directly. Our live map shows cabs and auto-rickshaws whose drivers have chosen to share their location; they are independent, and you agree the trip and fare with the driver directly. We do not book or dispatch rides.

Our role

TripUp is an online directory and guide. The businesses listed on it are independent. We do not own, run or control them, and we are not a party to any arrangement you make with them. This means:

  • Each business is responsible for its own prices, availability, quality, safety, licences and conduct, and for keeping any promise it makes to you.
  • A listing is not an endorsement or a guarantee, so please confirm prices, timings and location with the business before you travel or pay.
  • Any payment you make directly to a business, whether in cash, by UPI or otherwise, is between you and that business, and we cannot refund it.
  • Ratings shown on some listings come from publicly available sources such as Google Maps. They are not reviews written on TripUp, and we do not verify them.

Our guides to places and souvenirs are general information. Opening hours, entry rules, darshan timings and festival arrangements can change, so please check locally before you visit.

Travel plans

Travel plans are offered and fulfilled by independent local travel partners, not by TripUp. The partner provides the vehicle and driver and is responsible for running the trip, including permits, safety and timings. We share the partner's details with you before or when your booking is confirmed.

Itineraries are a guide. Actual timings can vary because of traffic, temple queues, weather or closures. Entry tickets, darshan passes, meals, parking charges and tolls are included only if the travel plan clearly says so.

If you book and pay for a travel plan online through TripUp, our Cancellation & Refund Policy and Shipping & Delivery Policy apply. If you arrange a trip directly with a partner by phone or WhatsApp, the terms you agree with that partner apply.

Listing your business

Any business owner, or a person authorised by the owner, can list a business on TripUp for free using the form at business.tripup.in. The form needs no login and is available in English, Marathi and Hindi. Our team reviews new listings before they appear on the site.

When you submit a listing, you confirm that:

  • You own the business or are authorised to list it.
  • The information is true, complete and current, and you will tell us promptly when it changes.
  • You have the right to share the photos, text and other content you submit, and it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
  • The business holds the licences, registrations and permits it needs under law.
  • Any prices or rates you share are genuine and make clear whether taxes are included.

You keep ownership of your content. By submitting it, you give us a free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, resize, format and share it on the Service and when promoting TripUp, for as long as your listing stays on TripUp.

We may edit a listing for clarity or formatting, ask you for proof of ownership, or decline or remove a listing that is inaccurate, outside our service area or in breach of these Terms. We do not promise any particular number of views, calls or customers.

Unclaimed listings, claims and removal requests

To make the directory useful from the start, we created some listings from publicly available business information, such as Google Maps. These are marked "unclaimed". They may be incomplete or out of date, and they do not mean the business has any relationship with TripUp.

If a listing is about your business, you can use the buttons on it to:

  • Claim the listing, so that it is verified and you can manage its details.
  • Request a correction or removal of the listing.

These requests ask for your name, phone number, your role in the business and a short message. Our team reviews each request manually and contacts you, and we may ask for reasonable proof that you are the owner or are authorised to act for the business. We aim to act on genuine requests promptly, and always within the grievance timelines set out below.

Some listings are marked "Featured" and appear above other listings. Our team may choose to feature a listing, and businesses may be able to buy featured or promoted placement through the plans on our Pricing page. Featured placement is a form of promotion. It is not a review, rating or recommendation.

After Featured listings, listings are generally shown in order of their rating, where one is available, and then by name. You can narrow the results with search and filters such as category, area and minimum rating. Apart from Featured placement, we do not accept payment to change the order in which listings appear.

Browsing TripUp, listing your business and contacting businesses are free. We may also offer paid services, such as:

  • Featured or promoted listing plans for businesses, for a one-time period or on a recurring basis.
  • Online booking of travel plans, where you pay the full amount or an advance for a trip fulfilled by an independent travel partner.

When a paid service is available:

  • Prices are shown in Indian Rupees (₹). Applicable taxes, such as GST, are shown at checkout, and you will see the total amount before you pay. There are no hidden charges.
  • Payments are processed by a third-party payment gateway regulated by the Reserve Bank of India. You enter your card, UPI or bank details on the gateway's secure page, and TripUp does not see or store them. The gateway's own terms also apply to your payment.
  • We ask you to confirm every purchase through a clear action, such as tapping a pay button. We never use pre-ticked boxes to add anything to your order.
  • If you pay an advance for a travel plan, your booking will show how much is still due, and how and when to pay it.
  • If a plan renews automatically, we will tell you before you pay, and you can cancel at any time to stop future renewals.
  • If a price is shown wrongly because of an obvious error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full.
  • Price changes do not affect orders you have already paid for.

Acceptable use

When using TripUp, including any of its forms, you must not submit, share or do anything that:

  • Is false or misleading, or impersonates another person or business.
  • Belongs to someone else and that you have no right to share, or infringes a copyright, trademark or other right.
  • Is obscene, pornographic, defamatory, harassing, invasive of another person's privacy, or harmful to children.
  • Promotes hatred or enmity between groups on grounds such as religion, caste or gender, or encourages violence, money laundering or gambling.
  • Threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with other countries, or public order.
  • Contains viruses or harmful code, or tries to hack, overload or disrupt the Service.
  • Copies or scrapes the directory in bulk, or uses automated tools to access the Service, without our written permission.
  • Uses contact details found on TripUp to send spam or unsolicited promotional messages.
  • Breaks any law in force in India.

We may remove content, reject requests or block access to the Service if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms or the law, or if a court or government authority requires it. Where appropriate, we will tell you why.

Intellectual property

The TripUp name and logo, the design of our website, and the guides, text and photos we create are owned by or licensed to TripUp. You may view and share our pages for personal use, but please do not republish our content without our written permission.

Business names, logos and photos in listings belong to their owners. Our maps use data from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors. If you believe something on TripUp infringes your rights, please contact our Grievance Officer.

Third-party services and availability

The Service links to and uses services run by others, such as Google Maps, WhatsApp, OpenStreetMap and business websites. We do not control them, and their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

We work to keep TripUp accurate and available, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that it will always be error-free or uninterrupted, and we may change, suspend or stop any part of it.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law:

  • We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of listed businesses or travel partners. For bookings made through TripUp, we will still help resolve problems and give refunds as set out in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as loss of profit or opportunity.
  • For any paid service, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid to TripUp for that service.

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, or your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

Indemnity

If you break these Terms or the law, or if content you submit infringes someone else's rights, you agree to compensate us for the reasonable losses, costs and claims we face as a result.

Grievance Officer

In line with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, we have appointed a Grievance Officer. You can contact the Grievance Officer with any complaint, including about content on TripUp, a listing about you or your business, a payment, or how we handle your personal data.

Please include your name and contact details, the name of or link to the listing or page concerned, any booking or payment ID, and a clear description of the issue. We will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days of receiving it, or sooner where the law requires.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date and, for significant changes, show a notice on the website. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. An order you have already paid for stays governed by the Terms that applied when you placed it.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If you have a problem, please contact us first so that we can try to sort it out. Subject to that, the courts at Kolhapur, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service. This does not limit your right as a consumer to approach a Consumer Commission or any other forum available to you under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
